If you would’ve asked me at the age of 18 what I envisioned my 21st birthday to be I would’ve told you all about my plan to get as drunk as I could and then end up on somebody’s dance floor until the club closed. I was pregnant with my first daughter Maddison on my 21st birthday so most of the plans I had involved food and an early night. Shortly after I gave birth to one bouncing baby girl a fast paced life blessed me with two more daughters and I was quickly a mother of 3 by the age of 23. Since I made the decision to intentionally become a better version of myself I have discovered that you don’t stop discovering things about yourself. The way I spoke to myself when I made mistakes was very unkind and 37 year old Porcia has a few things to say to early 20’s Porcia. Get a journal because life is about to hand you a story.

  1. Wait until you are mentally prepared to bring a child into this world.

  2. Look at your “failures” as lessons.

  3. You don’t have to defend everything that is said about you.

  4. Soften up a bit.

  5. Learn the difference between guidance and control. It’s imperative

  6. GO TO THERAPY, APPLY THE THERAPY!

  7. Learn everything you can about credit and budgeting.

  8. He does not deserve your time.

  9. You aren’t lonely, you’re just bored.

  10. Prioritize your relationship with God. This is the most important relationship you have and your relationship with God the father will affect every relationship going forward.
